“I have a gift for being in the right place at the right time every time I travel . I went to the United States for 6 months when I was 16. I met all sorts of people that led me to incredible situations. It made me dream and fall in love with travelling. I could make a movie out of everything that happened to me!

I found myself going to San Francisco with a guy. I thought he was a bum at first. But when we got there, he was actually super loaded! His father had a house with marble everywhere. He gave us a tour in an airplane, brought us to a country club for a day, a kind of place for loaded people with golf carts and wave pools… crazy! He just wanted to give us a good time. I was like Donald Trump for a day! Another time I found myself at a Hollywood party with a swimming pool, helicopter, fire-eater, anything you can think of. We also went to East Los Angeles with a friend, we wanted to see the real stuff. And we got what we wanted: a huge fight. We saw a guy throw a car hood on someone, things you don’t see here. Everything is bigger over there, even the fights.

I also met many famous people. I was able to go to the world premiere of Mission Impossible. At the entrance I found myself next to Jodie Foster and we spoke for 2 minutes, she was really cool! Another time I was sitting at a coffee with a friend, and a guy walks by and I say: “Damn! Wesley Snipes!”. He had a small dirty bag, and was horribly dressed. He tells me: “Damn my man! I walk by here everyday, and no one ever recognises me!”. And I tell him: “Of course, you look like a bum man!” He laughed, gave me this really hip-hop check and left cutting the road to 4 cars! It was just a series of crazy stuff like that! The only thing I didn’t do was acting in a porn movie on a yacht in Miami (laughs)!

This trip really had a profound effect on me, it opened my mind. There used to be more naivety in the world. Now with the internet, young people are one clic away to knowing everything. But this naivety, this craziness, they don’t have it.”
